How to get Unlimited 5G data

5G services is being rolled out all over the India and Airtel and Jio are offering free 5G unlimited data. To get free unlimited 5G data you have to do following things -

  • You need to have 5G phone for that and check if your phone has following 5G bands or not - N1, N3, N5, N8, N28, N41, N77, N78. If you have all these 5G bands then you will have proper cellular reception and the network will be strong most of the time. If your phone supports less 5G bands then you will get 5G signal but the connectivity will not be good. You can check these bands on your official retail box, on manufacturer's website or you can visit a site cacombos.com to check the cellular bands available in your phone.

  • The existing 4G SIM will work for 5G services too so no need to change the SIM. Next thing to do is check if there is 5G coverage in your area or not. You can check this on Ookla app or on Net monster app.

  • You need to do a minimum recharge of ₹239 on either of the service provider Jio or Airtel which is the welcome offer from both network operators for the users switching to 5G.
  • Go to your phone setting and check if the preferred network type is 5G or not, if not then select to 5G network.

  • If it isn't working then go to apps of respective service provider and run some tests and tweak some settings according to the given instructions.
  • Do note that you can use unlimited 5G data until your phone is receiving 5G signals, if there is no 5G network in the area then the network will revert back to 4G and you will be using your regular data from your daily active data pack.
