The newly launched Pixel is priced at $500(44,000) which has a better performance, upgraded cameras, higher refresh rate screen and wireless charging compared to the older Pixel 6A which is now priced at $349 (29,000). Both are great android phones with there own Pros and Cons but which one is better for you as a user and which one is more value for money, let's discuss -
Let's first discuss the upgrades which Pixel 7a has over Pixel 6a. The most noticeable change is the design itself which now resembles the new Pixel 7 series only the difference is the back panel is plastic compared to glass on flagship duo 7 & 7 Pro. Then there is a camera upgrade which is a new 64MP main sensor from Samsung and slightly larger 13 MP camera for both selfie and Ultrawide camera's. The bigger sensor has some noticeable improvements over the 12MP main sensor of Pixel 6a in details of photo and in low light scenarios . Other major upgrade is the higher 90Hz Refresh rate on the Pixel 7a which makes scrolling much smoother, the display size remains the same 6.1 inches. Then there is inclusion of wireless charging but it is kept at 7.5W which is insanely slow to charge, battery size remains the same. There is also a performance bump up with Tensor G2 chip.
The pricing of 7a is has been kept closer to Pixel 7 which makes it a not soo great deal, I would rather suggest you to spent some extra and get the Pixel 7 which has been priced at around ₹48k or $600. And I'm pretty sure the price of 7a will reduce drastically from what it is right now, most probably somewhere around ₹38k which will be okayish price to pay. And if you can live with 60Hz display and no wireless charging the Pixel 6a makes a great deal which is sometimes priced at 26k at during festive sales. Honestly, the camera's on 6a are the best for the price, performance is decent enough, battery life is good if you are not a heavy user, only deal breaker might be the 2 more Android updates it might get compared to 3 years on Pixel 7 series. I have been daily driving the Pixel 6A and I am happy with it, with some occasional heating issues.
